And in no particular order as they all have their own niche.

The Honda Navi

First, we have the Honda Navi. The Navi is a bite size motorcycle about the same size as the better known Honda Grom. Its lightweight frame makes it incredibly manoeuvrable. Add a CVT transmission for an easy twist and go ride and you have one of the easiest bikes you could ever enjoy. They only weigh 106kg or 234lbs, and you even get a set of pillion pegs and a comfy seat for two.

Powered by a simple 110cc Overhead Cam, 2 valve, four stroke engine, with a 9.5:1 compression ratio, the Honda Navi delivers a massive 8HP and will take you up to maximum speed of around 55mph,. It does have remarkably responsive acceleration with the CVT gearbox, making it quick off the line and perfectly capable of keeping up with city traffic.

All this while giving you fuel economy of around 110mpg. So the Navi is not only fun to ride but also cheap to run.

Although the Navi is small, the seating position is upright and comfortable, so you get a good view of the road ahead. In terms of practicality, It offers a decent amount of storage space too with a waterproof onboard luggage box under the seat.

Its unique design, manoeuvrability, and overall performance make it a great choice for riders who want a compact yet practical motorcycle for urban environments or to throw in the back of a van to use anywhere and everywhere.

They make a great paddock bike and will happily chug along some mild off road trails.

Whether you’re a new or experienced rider, the Honda Navi is sure to leave you grinning from ear to ear.

Kawasaki KDX200

Next, The Kawasaki KDX200 is a one of a kind dirt bike and a force to be reckoned with on the trails.

Weighing in at just 109 kilograms or 240 lbs, the KDX200 is incredibly agile. Its lightweight chassis and engine allow for quick and precise handling, making it a perfect choice for tackling challenging off-road terrain.

The Kawasaki KDX200 is equipped with shall we say a robust two-stroke single cylinder engine. It delivers an impressive 37HP and with a positive 6 speed gearbox, has performance comparable to many bigger bikes. Top speed with standard gearing varied over the years but in general is around 70 to 75mph, but this is a motorcycle where top speed gets a bit irrelevant. It is the low end torque where this motorcycle wins every time.

Its downside is that you will pay at the fuel pump with only about 20-30mpg depending on your throttle hand.

The precise details of the engine specifications vary slightly depending on the model year, but there were no bad years, just some were better than others. Be assured, it packs a punch. The engine is designed to give you a great big lump of low end torque and so acceleration is fantastic, giving you the power you need to conquer any trail with a smile, even as a beginner.

Whether you’re tearing through dirt, splashing through mud, or blazing through gravel, the KDX200’s engine will keep you thoroughly entertained.

In terms of practicality, the KDX200 is built to handle more than just off-road trails. While it excels in the dirt, it can handle city traffic and country lanes too. Its versatility makes it a great choice for riders who want a motorcycle that can handle everyday riding as well as off road adventures. Whether you’re riding through the woods, exploring mountain trails, or even navigating through the city, the KDX200 is more than up to the task.

The Kawasaki KDX200 is comfortable for a dirt bike and easy to control. Its high riding position gives a commanding view of the trail ahead without a seat height made for giants. The well designed suspension gives you a smooth and enjoyable ride too, even on rough terrain. The KDX200 is built to handle the challenges of all but the most extreme enduro environments, and it is easier to pick up than most bikes on the trails.

Whether you’re an experienced off-road rider or a newcomer to the world of dirt bikes, the Kawasaki KDX200 will leave you smiling in places others fear to tread.

Honda CT125 Trail

Moving on, we have the now fabled Honda CT125 Trail. Another exceptional motorcycle fit for both off-road adventures and urban explorating. There are occasionally odd bikes that come to the UK but this is one we sadly missed out on. Practical and strong, the CT125 Trail guarantees a smile wherever, whenever you are riding.

The CT125 Trail is lightweight and manoeuvrable, allowing riders to take on terrain they might otherwise not dare to. Whether you’re climbing rough trails or weaving through busy, city traffic, the CT125’s sprightly design makes it all easy.

Powered by a bombproof 125cc overhead cam, two-valve, four-stroke engine, the Honda CT125 Trail delivers its jaw dropping 9HP to the back wheel via a 4 speed semi automatic gearbox that uses a centrifugal clutch similar to the old Honda Cub. It can tackle remarkably challenging off-road conditions with its incredible 6.5 inch ground clearance too.

The CT125 Trail’s engine provides a great balance of power and efficiency, allowing you to tackle rough terrain while sipping less fuel than a camel in the desert. Around 95mpg in general.

It also gives you a comfortable riding position that ensures an enjoyable ride and the suspension will handle more than you might imagine. Tyres, shopping, camping gear, beer. You name it, and someone has probably used a CT125 to carry it at some point.

Practicality is key with the Honda CT125. It is a small, lightweight and practical motorcycle that can punch well above its weight when tackling off-road trails.

Yamaha TW200

Our fourth motorcycle is the Yamaha TW200, another bike we didnt get, the closest we have in the UK would be the Suzuki Van Van 125 I think but we will look at that another day. With its fat tyres and traditional design, the TW200 is a dual-sport motorcycle built to tackle any terrain and provide endless fun in the process.

It offers sure footed traction and really is a joy to ride Whether you’re exploring off-road trails or cruising in the city, the TW200 delivers a comfortable ride that will have you smiling like a cheshire cat.

Whether you’re riding through scenic trails or dodging through the urban jungle, the Yamaha TW200 just does it all, and will keep you smiling throughout your journey.

This bike is ultimately a great all-rounder. It is equally at home bouncing along the trails or as a practical commuter. It is another motorcycle that narrowly missed out on the Bombproof Bikes Video but I told you it would find its place.

With its reliable engine and smooth power delivery, the TW200 gives smooth acceleration and enough power to drag you and a passenger along, or strap all your gear on the back and just go.

In terms of practicality, the TW200 doesn’t disappoint. It has long service intervals, and makes everyday maintenance easy for the riders to carry out themselves. Its larger size can make it a more practical motorcycle on longer rides too.

At 278 lbs or 126 kg it is a little heavier than the CT125, but it has a whopping 16HP to help deal with that extra weight, which extends the top speed to around 70mph and it might even get to 75 downhill, with a tailwind, if you get your head on the tank. All that, and it will still do about 80mpg.

The Yamaha TW200’s blend of classic looks and modern engineering makes it a great motorcycle with a timeless design. It performs great and looks just as good. It’s a bike that has a character all of its own and captures a spirit of exploration, bringing a bucket load of joy to every ride.

BMW G450X

Last for today but certainly not least, we have the biggest, rarest and most expensive motorcycle on today’s list, the BMW G450X. This off-road monster was designed and built to satisfy the lust of riders seeking an adrenaline rush and thrilling off-road adventures.

The G450X is purpose-built to conquer the toughest terrain and provide an exhilarating riding experience. It is equipped with a powerful engine that delivers over 40HP and 43Nm of torque from its single-cylinder, 450cc design. It will give you all the power needed to tackle the most extreme off-road conditions.

Easier to ride than most full bore competition enduro bikes the BMW has a wet weight of just 120kg. That puts it almost on a par with the KDX200 for power to weight ratio which is no mean feat. It will also take you up to a 90mph top speed in standard trim, so it is a bit more road friendly than the KDX200 as well. It will also do a few more miles on a tank and give you around 35 to 40mpg.

Marzocchi forks and an Ohlins rear shock make short work of any rocks and bumps with around 12 inches of wheel travel front and back and 11.5 inches of ground clearance. This motorcycle was designed and built when BMW had purchased Husqvarna, and it shows in many of the details of this motorcycle.

The G450 X inspires confidence and the lightweight frame makes for fantastic manoeuvrability. Its perfectly balanced weight distribution means you get precise control, and you will be able to confidently tackle more demanding off-road challenges than you once thought possible.

Its robust build quality and high-quality components ensure the bike can withstand all the rigours of off-road riding. This means you can push your own limits and explore new horizons without worrying about the motorcycle’s performance or durability.

The BMW G450X is a fantastic dual sport, off-road machine, that delivers an unforgettable and heart-pumping riding experience. Its powerful engine, agile handling, advanced suspension, and solid build quality combine to create a motorcycle that brings a stupid grin to the most demanding conditions.
